Memories from the Comenius visit to Netherlands, written by pupils from Finland

Comenius-trip to the Netherlands 14.-18.5.2014

We left home on Wednesday morning, on 6.15 flight to Helsinki. There we had some breakfast and flew to Amsterdam. The trip took a little bit over two hours, but it went very quickly. We waited for the Austrians and Italians at Schiphol airport. After that we left to Voldendam by bus. Volendam is a beautiful fishing village.

On Thursday we visited Barraboech school. After the schoolday we went to see the town of Franeker with the teachers. In the evening we had the Comenius party.

On Friday we visited the small De Twirre school. There were only 36 pupils in that school. After school we went to see the planetarium.

On Saturday morning we went to the natural history museum in Leeuwarden. We had a lovely picnic by the canal, and the weather was sunny and warm. In the evening we had some free time with our host families. We went to Aeolus, which is a fun park for children. We had a great time. The whole day was sunny and lovely.

On Sunday about eight o’clock we left back to the airport by bus. At the airport we had a quick lunch and rushed for flight Helsinki. In Helsinki we just changed the plane and flew to Turku. It was hot in the plane. It was nice to be back home!
